Museo De La Demonia Wet Specimens (Sets and individuals)
Welcome to Museo De La Demonia, where horror, death and beauty are put on display...in a jar!
The first wet specimen we have on display is the conjoined piglets! This is a 2" Soft Enamel pin with epoxy and preserved in a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and Propylene Glyco (clear resin), Black Nickel Plated, Double Rubber Clutch and Museo De La Demonia back stamp. This was inspired from the book: Object Lessons: The Visualisation of Nineteenth-Century Life Sciences.
The second wet specimen we have on display is a full term human baby with exposed organs. This is a 2.5" Soft Enamel pin with epoxy and preserved in a formaldehyde (clear resin), Black Nickel Plated, Double Rubber Clutch and Museo De La Demonia back stamp. (Please note: this was inspired by a real human baby specimen. The face has been changed out of respect. The organs were the only real part used for inspiration.)
The third wet specimen we have on display is a diaphonized chicken fetus in a Whitall Tatum Specimen Jar.
These little see-through corpses are soaked in chemicals breaking down or clearing their flesh so you can literally see through them. Their muscles, bones and cartilage are then dyed making beautiful little pieces of artwork. This diaphonized chicken fetus is 2.5" Soft enamel with epoxy and is preserved in glycerine (clear resin), Black Nickel Plated, Double Rubber Clutch, Museo De La Demonia back stamp.
Due to the nature of how these are made, as they are all poured by hand, there might be slight variations in the resin. These are not defects. I do recommend handling them with care as they are delicate.
